The Brisbane Broncos have beaten the Melbourne Storm 26-22 in the NRL grand final despite trailing by 10 points at half-time and losing both Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt to injury in the second half.

With both Brisbane halves injured, fullback Reece Walsh exceeded even his own lofty standards with a truly stunning performance in both attack and defence as the Broncos powered back from 22-12 down at half-time with four unanswered second-half tries.

With a try, three try assists, four line break assists, 14 tackle busts and a few try-saving plays, Walsh won the Clive Churchill Medal as the Broncos won their first premiership since 2006, when they also beat the Storm in the decider.

Earlier, Brisbane won the NRLW grand final 22-18 against the Sydney Roosters in a thriller, benefiting from a controversial match-winning try to Mele Hufanga.
