A young child has died after an incident involving a vehicle on McDonald Road in the Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe.
The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation and police are providing support to the family.
The incident was reported to emergency services about 4pm Saturday and police arrived shortly afterwards.
Officers from the Police Criminal Investigation Branch and the Serious Crash Unit are at the scene, making enquiries.
