Wellington Electricity is confident that power will be restored to all of its remaining customers by the end of the day.
According to the latest update at 8am this morning, about 150 residences remained without electricity, after the power was cut off in last week's storm.
"We're currently progressing as scheduled and are on track to have all remaining customers restored today," Wellington Electricity said.
"If we identify any additional outages, these will be completed by Wednesday."
Several residents have said they had been disappointed by the communication from the Wellington Electricity and struggled to get a response from the company.
One of those, Miramar resident John Mills, has been without power for days, and was hopeful it would be back on soon.
Mills said he had tried to treat his situation with a sense of humour, but it had started to wear thin.
"We're making do with candles, and LEDs, and power bricks... I've been treating it as a kind of pioneering in the field of suburban off-grid living.
"I mean, we're really fortunate. We've got gas to cook with. We've got a fireplace to keep warm with. We can make do.
"[But] I'm not a happy camper, I have to say. And we are camping."
Wellington Electricity chief executive Greg Skelton has defended the response of Wellington Electricity.
He told Morning Report on Monday it was a big storm event with widespread damage and they have been systematically working to restore the network.
He said Wellington Electricity had been contacting customers and following up with those who called the contact centre.
Another update is expected from Wellington Electricity around 8pm on Tuesday.
