Police have taken four people into custody after a man arrived at an Auckland hospital early on Sunday morning with serious injuries following an assault.
Police said the man got to Waitākere Hospital about 3.30am Sunday with serious injuries to his thigh and back.
He told police he had been injured hours earlier at a property in Massey, which officers then visited.
They took four people into custody, and charged one of them with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police said they were still investigating, and further charges were possible.
A 31-year-old man was due to appear in Waitākere District Court on Monday.
