Police have named 71-year-old Grant Bruce Jarden as the man who died after an aircraft crash in Hastings.
Emergency services were called to the Hastings Aerodrome on Valentine Road just after midday Sunday, where a light aircraft had crashed into the tarmac.
Jarden, the sole occupant of the plane, died at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
The incident has been referred to the Civil Aviation Authority.
