Police expect post mortem examinations of two people found dead in the Wellington suburb of Roseneath will be carried out on Wednesday.
The bodies were found in a home on Palliser Road on Tuesday after a concerned family member requested police carry out a welfare check.
Detective Inspector Haley Ryan said people in the area could expect to see a continued police presence as officers investigate what happened.
Police would also be present in the Wellington suburb of Northland, following another sudden death reported later on Tuesday.
