Kiwi driver Liam Lawson has finished just outside the top 10 in the second practice at the Mexican Grand Prix.
Lawson was 11th fastest at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, clocking 1mm 18.218s - 0.264 seconds away from a top-10 finish.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen topped the timesheets with the fastest lap time of 1m 17.392s, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli.
Lawson was quicker than Racing Bulls teammate Isack Hadjar, who was 14th, while McLaren's Oscar Piastri was one place behind Lawson in 12th.
Significantly, Lawson was also faster than Racing Bulls reserve driver Ayumau Iwasa (1m 20.153s), who was given his car to test in the first practice session.
The main race is timed for 9am Monday NZT.
