The Stars have been quick to replace goal shoot Maia Wilson by signing Martina Salmon from the Tactix.

Salmon joins the Stars after helping the Tactix to a maiden ANZ Premiership title this year, which earned her a maiden call up to the Silver Ferns squad.

Wilson announced her move across town to the Mystics earlier this week.

Twenty-one-year-old Salmon had her breakout season with the Pulse before heading south to the Tactix.

"It's been pretty crazy. I can't believe how the last two years have gone to be honest. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had at the Pulse and Tactix," Salmon said in a statement.

"I had a break and wanted to rediscover that passion for netball again and the things I've achieved since playing in the ANZ Premiership have been amazing.

"I'm grateful for everything I've learnt and want to continue to grow and soak everything in when I'm in Auckland."

She was born in Auckland, before moving to Australia at a young age and returning to New Zealand to chase her netball dream.

"Most of my family grew up in Onehunga and I've got a lot of family around that area and south Auckland so I'm basically coming home," Salmon added.

"I can't wait to get out amongst the community. I'm Samoan and Tongan myself and I know there's a lot more Pasifika people in Auckland, so being able to be around my culture and serve the community is really exciting."
