The 30-year-old Dally M player of the year was signed until the end of 2026, but has now extended his contract for another four years.

Since joining Storm in 2017, Hughes has played a pivotal role in Melbourne's success and was part of the club's 2020 Premiership winning side.

"I'm delighted to extend my contract with Storm for another four years. I absolutely love this Club, it's become a second family to me, and Melbourne feels like home.

"This group of players, coaches, and staff is incredibly special, and I'm determined to achieve more success in the purple jersey. I'm excited for what lies ahead and the memories still to come."

The Wellington-born playmaker has played 165 games for the Storm and 10 Tests for the Kiwis.

Hughes is currently sidelined with a dislocated shoulder but is expected to be fit again in time for the NRL playoffs.
