All Whites defender Liberato Cacace is reportedly in the sights of Wrexham FC.

Italian news outlet Calcio News 24 has reported English Championship club Wrexham from Wales is one of several clubs wanting to lure Cacace away from Empoli.

Cacace is under contract with Empoli until next year, but the Italian club has just been demoted from Serie A and are said to be open to a permanent move for the New Zealander for nearly $8 million.

Three other Italian clubs, Cagliari, Pisa and Cremonese, have reportedly shown interest in the 24-year-old left-footed player.

The Hollywood-backed Wrexham will be in New Zealand to play the Wellington Phoenix on 19 July.

Cacace was part of the All Whites squad which qualified for next year's Football World Cup and will want game time to try and impress the national team head coach Darren Bazeley to make sure he is on the plane to North America for what would be his first world cup.

Cacace joined Empoli in 2022 from Belgium club Sint-Truidense.
