It's yet another historic night for the Blues women.

The back-to-back Aupiki champs have become the inaugural winners of the trans-Tasman champions final, defeating the Waratahs 36-5 in atrocious conditions in Albany.

Despite the relentless rain, New Zealand rugby's newest superstar Braxton Sorensen -McGee backed up her heroics in the Aupiki final with another sensational display from fullback.

The teenage wonderkid opened the scoring after weaving her magic in the tenth minute, slicing through the Waratahs defence and brushing off the fullback Caitlin Hasle to ignite the home crowd.

As torrential rain fell on Albany, Elizabeth Moimoi barged her way over for the Blues' second, Ruahei Demant negotiating a wild wind to convert.

Another sensational break by Sorensen -McGee saw her bag a brace, as she glided out of her own half and threw a superb dummy to beat the final defender once again and stroll in under the bar.

Taking a 19-0 lead at the break, it was none other than Portia Woodman to kick things off in the second, the Black Ferns legend showcasing her power as she dragged three Waratahs over in the corner.

While errors were ubiquitous throughout the second, the Blues managed to seal things in the 70th, as Cheyenne Tuli-Fale powered through some feeble tackle attempts to dot down for the Blues' fifth.

Looking dead and buried, the visitors pulled off a late consolation through Desiree Miller, but the Blues responded almost immediately, Krysten Cottrell scoring a sixth for the hosts, as the Waratahs were dealt a harsh lesson on the shore, the chasm between the two countries apparent.
