Auckland City FC have won a fourth successive Oceania Champions League title after beating Hekari United FC 2-0 in the final in the Solomon Islands.

Striker Myer Bevan scored a goal in each half to see off their Papua New Guinea rivals at the National Stadium in Honiara, and hand the Navy Blues their 13th Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) crown in total.

Having already qualified as Oceania's representatives at the FIFA Club World Cup in June, Auckland City will now also represent the region at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup tournament later in the year.

Hekari, making their first appearance in the final since winning the OFC Champions League in 2010, made an aggressive start and created early chances.

However, the New Zealand club absorbed the pressure and created counterattacking chances, with Bevan finally putting them in front in the 39th minute through a classy back-heel finish off Haris Zeb's low cross.

Former All White Bevan added the second from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute after Matty Ellis was pulled down in the penalty box.
