Taylor Preston was sentenced in the Wellington District Court for failing to take all practicable steps to ensure an employee was not exposed to a workplace hazard.
It was fined more than $72,500 and was also ordered to pay the injured worker $8,000 in reparation.
The conviction related to an incident in August 2013 in which cleaner Matelena Tuiluaai's fingers were caught in a roller pinch point, causing a fracture to the base of her thumb which required surgery and a metal plate.
Judge Stan Thorburn said the company did not have a have a good health and safety record.
