A person has died after a petrol tanker rolled on State Highway 5 in the on Bay of Plenty.
The highway near Whakarewarewa remains closed, with diversions in place at the northern and southern ends of SH5, police say.
The crash happened about 2am on Friday.
Drivers should expect delays.
Contractors would be clearing debris and fuel spilt across the highway on Friday morning.
