Police say one person has died in a serious crash in Matakana, north of Auckland.
A spokesperson said the single-vehicle crash happened on Leigh Road, between Quintal Road and Takatu Road, and was reported to emergency services just after 6pm Saturday.
A seriously injured person has now died.
Police said the road remained closed as a result of the crash, while staff worked at the scene.
Diversions were in place and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
