A person has died following a crash on State Highway 2 in rural Hawke's Bay on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash near Takapau shortly before 7.30am.
Police said the person died at the scene.
The serious crash unit has attended and enquiries are ongoing.
The section of the highway has since reopened.
