Police have been called to an "unexplained" death at a rural property in Northland.
The body of a man was found by ambulance staff at the property off Mangakahia Road (State Highway 15), Parakao just before 4pm Friday.
Police said the death is being treated as unexplained and an investigation is underway into the circumstances.
The property has been cordoned off, a scene guard is in place and a scene examination will happen, police said.
A post mortem would be carried out at a later stage.
"These enquiries are in the very early stages and no further information is currently available," a police spokesperson said.
