All power outages throughout the Wellington region will be restored by the middle of next week due to "significant repair work" needed, Wellington Electricity says.
It said there were 350 customers without power in Wellington as a storm continues to batter the region.
Wellington Electricity said while crews did restore power to several areas on Thursday night, continued high winds have seen new and repeat outages as trees and debris were blown into power lines.
"As conditions ease today our crews are continuing their restoration efforts. As with yesterday, our first priority is to attend any faults which present a safety concern, with our next priority being to restore power to the largest affected areas," a Wellington Electricity spokesperson said.
"We're now sending teams to single premise faults to determine our restoration focus for today and the next few days. Due to the isolated nature of some of these faults, customers may not have their power restored today.
"We appreciate our customers' patience and will keep our outages page updated with the latest information on faults impacting more than 10 customers."

Fire crews were called to several trees falling on power lines, and roofing iron was lifted off properties across Wellington.
Flights in and out of the region were cancelled on Wednesday, with some resuming on Thursday morning.
Wellington is currently under a heavy swell warning, while southern Wairarapa is under an orange heavy rain warning.
