Northland Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a carpark in Kawakawa on Sunday morning.
Detective Inspector Rhys Johnston said police were called to Station Road around 7:45am where they found the man's body in a vehicle in a carpark near the Caltex service station.
"A scene examination of the area is ongoing, and police are speaking with a man in relation to the death, which is unexplained at this stage," he said.
A post-mortem is expected to be conducted Monday.
