A man and women are to appear in the Waitākere District Court for a string of burglaries in Piha, Auckland.

The 34-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were taken into police custody on Thursday after months of investigations.

Police said they received 14 reports of burglary, theft and suspicious activity in the area between late January and early April.

They said they were able to identify the pair using some of the reports and CCTV footage.

Waitematā West Area Prevention manager, Inspector Kelly Farrant, said a number of stolen items were recovered at a West Coast Road property - were the pair were found by police.

Farrant said the community deserved to go about their business without the threat of being a victim of crime.

"We will continue to actively target burglary offenders every single day, and we continue to ask members of the public to report any instances of suspicious behaviour in a timely manner," Farrant said.

The man - who will appear in Waitākere District Court on Friday - has been charged with two counts of burglary, unlawful possession of ammunition and failure to carry out obligations in relation to a computer search.

The woman has also been charged with burglary, unlawfully in an enclosed area, possession of methamphetamine utensils and failure to carry out obligations in relation to a computer search, and is to appear in Waitākere District Court on 16 April.

Police said they were not ruling out further charges.
