An earthquake has caused light shaking near Levin.
The magnitude 4.4 quake struck at 12.59pm on Friday, 20km southwest of the Horowhenua town at a depth of 35km.
Thousands of people reported they felt the shaking to GeoNet mostly in the lower North Island and upper South.
