The person who died in a crash on Lewis Pass Road has been named as 24-year-old Wen-Yang Liu.
Liu, from Taiwan, died after the on State Highway 7 - which links Canterbury and the West Coast - shortly before 10pm on 9 February.
There was only one vehicle involved in the crash.
Police said they continued to offer support to his family.
