Fire and Emergency crews are battling a large forestry fire in Marlborough's Wairau Valley.
Emergency services were alerted to the skid site blaze just off State Highway 63 at 2:30am on Wednesday morning.
At its height, 20 firefighters were in attendance.
The perimeter of the fire is 50 metres by 10 metres and is five metres high.
FENZ said it was now contained but not controlled.
Forestry crews, six firefighters, two tankers and a helicopter are still at the scene.
