A man has been arrested over an assault that happened near the Sturges Road Train Station before 10am on Monday.
Police are still working to establish what occurred, but confirmed that a 40-year-old will be facing a charge of male assaults female, Waitematā West area prevention manager Inspector Kelly Farrant said.
Farrant said enquiries are ongoing and further charges cannot be ruled out.
"The victim is understandably shaken by what occurred, and we are ensuring there is support available for her," Farrant said.
Police patrols will be in the Sturges Road area over the next few days.
