A staff member has been assaulted by three young people at a youth justice facility in Rotorua.
Police said they were called to the facility at 10.45pm on Thursday.
"Fortunately the staff member was not seriously injured, however they were transported to hospital to be checked over."
The three youths who also damaged a window were taken into custody without incident at 11.05pm that night, police said.
They are appearing in Rotorua Youth Court on Friday, charged with assault with intent to injure.
