More than 1000 houses in Wellington were without power after a network outage this afternoon.

Wellington Electricity says 1424 houses were affected in the suburbs of Hataitai, Kilbirnie, Roseneath and Oriental Bay just after 2pm.
The cause of the outage is not clear.
