A person has died at a railway crossing in the Auckland suburb of Takanini this afternoon.
A police spokesperson said they were alerted just before 2pm and were at Taka Street railway crossing in Takinini, where the incident occurred.
Auckland Transport said Southern Line services were terminating at Manukau until further notice.
They said travel is expected to be disrupted during this evening's peak.
The Eastern and Southern Lines would run at a 20 minute frequency. Once passengers reached Manukau they could use buses to travel further south, Auckland Transport said.
