Dairy co-operative Fonterra has made progress on the proposed sale of its consumer and associated Fonterra Oceania and Sri Lanka businesses.
In a market statement, it said it had reached a stage where some potential purchasers may pre-emptively apply for regulatory approvals, before any deal was made.
Fonterra said it was undertaking a dual-track process, pursuing both a trade sale and initial public offering for the group of consumer businesses, otherwise known as the Mainland Group.
Anne Templeman-Jones was also appointed to chair the audit and risk committee for the Mainland Group board, in preparation for a potential public listing.
