Commuters heading to Wellington City on Thursday morning will be significantly impacted by a serious crash in Petone, police say.
Emergency services were at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on The Esplanade, near Victoria Street.
The westbound road was closed with diversions in place.
Police said at least one person was thought to be seriously injured.
