Ngati Tuwharetoa is offering advice to other iwi - now it's reached a deal with Mighty River Power over the use of water in Lake Taupo; the Maori Party has come out in support of any compensation claims by Lake Waikaremoana owners, whose water has been used by government-controlled Genesis Energy to generate electricity and make money; The Maori Language Commission says a government fund to help Te Reo development programmes, which was due to be stopped, has carried on because of expected changes to the act overseeing language revitalisation; A customary fisheries forum has slated the decision by the Environmental Protection Authority to grant a marine consent to OMV to continue its development drilling programme in the South Taranaki Bight.
