Free bus, train weekend trips for Auckland kids proposed

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff hopes making public transport free for children under 15 during weekends and public holidays will encourage everyone in the city to travel by buses and trains more often. The proposal has been discussed informally by councillors and Auckland Transport, but would have to be approved by the full council as part of its budget process.
