Professor Poia Rewi leaves Te Matawai

Te Matawai is the independent organisation established in 2016 with the mission to 'restore Maori as a nurturing first language within Maori homes and communities'. Professor Poia Rewi was appointed Tumu Whakarae-Chief Executive in 2020 and will step down next month. Is Te Matawai on track to achieve its goals and will he return to academia where he produced influential works such as the book Whaikorero: The World of Maori Oratory.
