Auckland-based artist Sean Beldon grew up in South Africa, amid a background of political tension and of course, violence.
His solace was music - and as a child, he fell in love with the sounds of Split Enz and Crowded House.
He's been in his adopted home of NZ for over 15 years now and his connection to the music, and his new home of Aotearoa remains strong.
