Inquest into death of Olympic cyclist Olivia Podmore resumes

A coronial inquest into the death of Olympic cyclist Olivia Podmore has resumed in Christchurch today following a lengthy adjournment. The young athlete died in a suspected suicide in August 2021 - less than 24 hours after the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympic Games. An independent expert told the court he believed the trauma of Ms Podmore's early experiences in the Cycling NZ programme resurfaced when she missed selection for the Tokyo Games.
