What the Dog Knows
When a German Shepard named Solo was a puppy, he was a nightmare. Aggressive and disobedient, his owner Cat Warren, yes that is her real name, did not know what to do to with him. A trainer suggested she try something out of the box: get Solo involved in cadaver tracking. Solo became a canine version of Sherlock Holmes, working on missing person and murder cases using his keen sense of smell to find clues. Cat and Solo found their way together while searching for death. She has a book about the incredible ability of working dogs called What the Dog Knows: Scent, Science, and the Amazing Ways Dogs Perceive the World
