Sahara record
Fancy going down in history for completing the first Trans-Saharan crossing by wind power alone? Sorry - you're too late. The deed has already been accomplished, by a team that included two kiwis. New Zealanders Steve Gurney and Greg Hansen, with their two Aussie teammates, rode 2160 km across the world's most fearsome desert in just 26 days, powered only by the force of the wind at their backs.
