Award-winning Māori filmmaker Kathleen Mantel's latest project is currently currently playing on our screen, it's a documentary about Māori reconnecting with their whenua and whakapapa.
Te Hokinga Mai: The Return is an eight-part series addressing the urban drift of the last century when Māori were swept away from their kāinga and into cities.
The series looks at the tide turning, and Māori reconnecting with their ancestral roots.
Kathleen, of Ngāti Kahungunu, hopes the deeply personal stories being shared will inspire others to do the same.
