The pools have been drawn for the SVNS World Championship in Los Angeles next month.
The championship pools, which are based on rankings, were confirmed at the conclusion of Singapore Sevens at the weekend.
The top eight teams at the conclusion of the regular season round of the 2025 HSBC SVNS will compete for the title.
Three-time world player of the year Daniel Carter said in the rugby calendar it was nice to have something to work towards.
"Look at last year, how dominant Argentina was throughout the series and then France, they just came and were victorious in Madrid."
On the men's side, Singapore victors Fiji are in Pool B with Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
Pool A comprises this year's league winners Argentina, South Africa, Olympic champions France, and Great Britain.
Women's Olympic champions and this year's league winners New Zealand are in Pool A with Canada, Japan and Great Britain.
The Fijian women side is in Pool B with Australia, France, and the USA.
Last year, France men and Australia women were crowned HSBC SVNS 2024 champions at the inaugural Grand Final in Madrid.
The teams who finished 9th to 12th in the sevens rankings will go into a promotion/relegation playoff in LA, against the top finishers from the second-tier challenger series.
The challenger series third round is in Krakow, Poland on 11-12 April, with the overall top four from that series getting to play for promotion in LA.
Samoa and Tonga are in pool A for the challenger series third round in Krakow. Samoa lost their place in the top tier at the 2024 promotion/relegation playoff.
