A man is in custody in Mt Hagen in Papua New Guinea after the alleged murder of four people, three from his family.

Police said the man is alleged to have killed his two daughters, aged 6 and 8, by strangling them, then stabbed their babysitter, and lay in wait for his wife to return from work.
He allegedly stabbed her and hit her with a rock as well.
