The Man Whose Mother was a Pirate – The Musical is a brand-new musical theatre voyage, with songs and sea-shanties crafted by Nino Raphael. Inspired by Margaret Mahy’s much-loved children’s book, the production promises 'swashbuckling fun wrapped up with a heartfelt message'.
The show debuts at Wellington's Hannah Playhouse on Friday 5 December, with the season running until 14 December.
RNZ Concert's Andrew Clark caught up with creator Nino Raphael - who also brought his concertina into the RNZ studio - to talk about the interactive musical.
