Toi Toi Opera in Ōtautahi Christchurch is presenting a semi-staged production of Riders to the Sea - a short opera by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams - along with sea-themed works by Dame Gillian Whitehead and David Hamilton.
RNZ Concert's David Morriss talks with baritone Alex Robinson, co-founder and managing director of Toi Toi Opera, and Arts Foundation Laureate Sara Brodie, who is director for the production.
